Donna Runkles, LCADC, LCPC
Helping others is a privilege and a part of my life purpose. I earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University in Baltimore and am a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists. I have over fifteen years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and their families.
I specialize in treating co-occurring disorders or dual disorders. When individuals struggle with life stressors such as family problems, anxiety, and grief, sometimes they turn to substance use to deal with the emotional pain. This can lead to the onset of a substance use disorder. Substance use disorder cause social isolation, work-related issues, family discord, and sometimes legal problems. The cycle of untreated co-occurring disorders result in more life challenges with additional pain and suffering. Does this sound familiar? Are you or a loved one experiencing these complicated problems?
It is never too late to seek help and stop this cycle. My approach to treatment is to utilize client centered, motivational, and cognitive behavioral counseling tools to help you find your path towards recovery and healing. I believe in and practice trauma informed care and am also trained in the treatment of trauma. I facilitate individual and group counseling sessions with a focus on understanding self, utilizing personal strengths, and developing skills to manage and resolve conflicts. My goal is to help you find clarity and restore personal health and wellness.
I look forward to working with you.
