“Sometimes, the world seems against you
The journey may leave a scar
But scars can heal and reveal just
[who] you are…
– Opetaia Foa’i & Lin-Manuel Miranda
Have you not been feeling like yourself lately? Perhaps you’ve been struggling with a family member, or loved one and don’t know what to do anymore? Let’s work together to get you back to who you truly are. My name is Nicole Nimmons and I have been providing individual, couples, and family therapy since 2013. My training began at a nationally accredited Marriage and Family Therapy program and I have since then become licensed in Florida, Delaware, and Maryland. My recent clinical experiences have ranged from working within a community mental health clinic serving military personnel and local families, counseling college-aged students, as well as providing Substance Abuse and Co-Occurring Disorder treatment to clients in central Florida.
I believe therapy is a journey of self-discovery. As an MFT, I have specialized training in systemic therapy models which include Solution-Focused Therapy. Systemic theory takes a look at you in the context of everything that has and is going on in your life. Influences that it might be easy to forget are there. My therapeutic mantra is, “Finding a way through it, together.” That it, could be any number of things. I understand that people sometimes get stuck in trying to fix their concerns on their own. My hope is that, together, we can work to resolve whatever is no longer working for you.
My areas of focus are:
Feelings of anxiety & depression
Substance Use/Co-Occurring Diagnoses
Pre-Marital & Martial Issues
Phase of Life Transitions
Coming of Age Concerns
Thank you for your time! I hope to work with you someday soon.
