Chelsea Felling, LMSW is a licensed masters social worker with a graduate degree from Salisbury University. She has spent the last 7 years working with children and families effected from Adverse Childhood Experiences(ACE). Most of her experience comes directly from working with the child welfare system and victims of trauma. She believes that therapy should be purposeful and solution focused.
Did you know that trauma has been linked to several medical conditions such as chronic lung and heart disease; liver disease, viral hepatitis; liver cancer; and autoimmune diseases? The symptoms of trauma often appear as anxiety, depression, mood swings, or difficulty concentrating. These symptoms can be difficult to manage for a trauma survivor due to their constant state of hyperarousal and can impact their social functioning. However, with proper coping skills a survivor of trauma can learn to decrease stress leaving them in control of their life and health.
Chelsea believes in the power of healing through healthy attachment and trusting relationships. She prides herself on meeting clients with an empathetic approach and uses client focused techniques to provide powerful insight into their maladaptive behaviors which could be hindering their overall quality of life. This therapist finds that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an effective yet simple form of therapy to address the areas in life that a client can control while decreasing the emotional impact of the areas in life that they can not.
I look forward to being apart of your personal journey towards self empowerment and emotional healing.
